  • Numerous border posts in case a visitor drives into Tanzania from any neighboring country.

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport 

At Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met by Wild Climbs Kilimanjaro staff for transfer to Moshi, a town on the foot hills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. A drive from airport to Moshi is 42 km and it will take about one hour.

 Arrival through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi Kenya

You will have two options. The first one is to find a connecting flight from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro. This is the most convenient option. There are frequent flights between these two airports. To avoid unnecessary hassles you are advised to buy the connecting ticket before your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The flight from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Kilimanjaro International Airport takes less than one hour, depending on the airplane and the distance is 145 miles or 233 kms or 126 nautical miles.

The second option is to take a transfer shuttle from Nairobi to Arusha / Moshi, through Namanga Border post. The driving distance from Nairobi to Arusha is 169 miles or 274 kms and to Moshi is 216 miles or 350 kms. Transfer shuttles depart Nairobi every day at 08:00 hrs and arrive Arusha at 15:00 hrs and Moshi at 13:30 hrs. The indicative price (2018 price) is USD 30 for Arusha and USD 35 for Moshi.

 Arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam

You may as well fly through Julius Nyerere International Airport Dar es Salaam and then fly to Kilimanjaro International Airport. There are frequent flights from Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam to Kilimanjaro International Airport. The flight between two airports takes more or less one hour over 448 nautical kms or nautical 246 miles.
